Ryan has been on the internet looking for the new Joker costume and Summer has just announced she and her American girl will be dressing the same and going out together for Halloween. Now as a mother I ponder and can only come up with.... what the heck are they talking about. Isn't it 105 outside and just the beginning of Summer. I was just wondering.
Where are the days when I went to Party City and just went to the old bin and picked out the funky orange and green M&M costumes (and my I say I don't have a picture of them and it was the cutest)!
I think they have too much time on there hands this summer.
We will be breaking out the workbooks soon......Oh I can already hear the resistance!

Oh, please! My kids are already talking about what they want Santa to bring them THIS Christmas!! It's crazy, isn't it?
I think a trip to the beach, or at least to the spray park, is warranted. Maybe they need a reminder that it is indeed SUMMER!
As for us and Halloween, I'm at a lucky stage. My son feels that he's "too old" to wear a costume (even though he winds up throwing together some homemade concoction at the last minute). My oldest daughter is such a tomboy that I can usually get away with putting together a satisfactory ensemble from the stuff we have left over from previous Trick-or-Treat adventures. My youngest is such a girly girl that she's pretty satisfied with diving into her dress up bin and pulling out something princess-like that she's thrilled to wear! :)
I sure hope it stays that way in our household for a LONG time!
Good luck with your workbooks. They may moan, but it's good to keep their little minds active! :)
xox,

Do you have a sewing machine? Maybe its time to break it out and teach them how to sew. Think of the the 'personal satisfaction' they would have if they made their costumes! When Ryan moans you can quote me. :)
