Raising kids sometimes breaks my heart!

It's so hard to teach children what is nice behavior and what isn't, and how words can actually hurt, even tough skin mom! I really don't like showing them my vulnerable side of my thin skin, however it comes through sometimes. Enough said!

Yep, I know what you mean. You know when the kids get a case of the "nasties", and they take it out on you, that intellectually speaking they're doing so because you're their safety net, and they know they can use you as a sounding board and still feel "safe". But... the crud that comes out of their mouth can sting a bit, just the same.

If you need to talk about it, you know where to find me, hon.

I'm thinking that despite how hurtful that can be, I think it's good to show that side sometimes to our kids. So they learn from it from someone that is going to love them regardless.

I hope their case of nasties goes away quickly.
