Chicken Strips or Chicken nuggets....

Jaci (my niece) and I were out shopping and picking up my mom. We were hungry so we went to the corner where it had many choices of that delectable fast food we all so love! Jaci noticed there was a Canes ( for those who don't know what a "Canes" is, it sells chicken strips ). Jaci asked do you want chicken strips...? I slowly pondered her question and replied" No I'm not a chicken strip girl. I am more of a chicken nugget girl myself". She laughed so hard, I didn't mean it to be funny but laughing is contagious, so we were cracking each other up.

Jaci and I have really been enjoying hanging out with each other lately, we don't really have the best 10 years behind us. I have loved her too much and I've been pretty oppinionated about her life and she has been just growing up. But I will admit her meaness about it all was very hard on me, she has made me cry on more then one (hundred) occassion. It's nice developing this bond again with her.

For anyone to understand this you must know that my mom, dad, my sister and myself raised her until she was around, well forever. Her dad was there and always around, they have a great Dad and daughter relationship. But Jaci was really part of us as a family. So she is like my sister and since she never really had her mom around I mothered her. This explains why we had are differences. But I will always love her and she also who has a little girl that resembles me! I think that is pretty neat!

I hsve nieces that are closer in age to me than their mother (my sister) and I are, and I was a little bit of a "mother hen" to them, too. I offered a much different opinion for them than their mom did, and they confided in me a lot (still do).

Once Jaci sees you as more of an equal than a mother figure (that will come as she grows into adulthood), she'll come back around.

And you'll get to enjoy more chicken together! :)
