Snowflakes and Beatrix Potter

We had a really great day of home school. I was dreading what I was going to start this year with and by listening to the spirit, I thought about Ryan's curiosity with the cold weather. He loves the cold. Snow is his favorite, so to say when we received snow in December, I had quite a happy boy!
This was the light bulb going off. I decided that we could study snow and the cold weather. What a response. It was really wonderful. I am glad that I listen when I am suppose to.
We made snowflakes and read about Snowflake Bentley. Thank You Aunt Cindy!
Tomorrow we will break out the science book and learn about cold fronts. We will also have a trip up to the mountains to play in the snow! This is my reprimand tool this week
We are also studying Beatrix Potter's works and will have a movie day and watch the story Ms. Potter. Lots of fun this week! Summer has already read 5 books of Ms. Potter. She is a machine when it comes to reading. Though Ryan isn't as enthusiastic he will get through all of them also! I will post the snowflakes pictures later! I love the 3 d snowflakes!
